Title: Hard Road

Series: The Untouchables MC Book 4

Author: Joanna Blake

Release Date: January 23, 2019

I’m the head of the Hell Raisers MC. I have a code of honor, even if I keep it hidden. So when I see some of my guys roughing up a runaway, I step in. I just don’t expect to want her for myself.

People think I’m crazy. They’re right. They just don’t know why. Nobody knows the truth about me, but she sees right through me with her big blue eyes.

I’m reckless and wild. But when I see her, I want something different. For the first time in nearly a decade, I start thinking about what happens after.

After I catch my brother’s killer.

She doesn’t seem to care that I’m a merciless criminal who will stop at nothing for revenge. She softens me, and that’s a luxury I can’t afford.

She’s the most dangerous thing for a guy like me, but I can’t seem to stay away.

I gave up everything to find out the truth about what happened to my brother. It’s been years since his murder, and it’s taken me that long to get this close. I need to end it, once and for all.

My demons are big, but when she gets in the way, I find out my need for her is even bigger.

Hard Road is Book 4 in the Untouchables MC series. It can be read as a standalone. There is no cheating and a guaranteed happily ever after.

“Can’t sleep?”

I startled, closing the manila file on my lap quickly and sliding it into a magazine. It was dark in here. There was a chance she hadn’t noticed what I was looking at for the hundredth time since I’d gotten it earlier that afternoon.

I fucking hoped she hadn’t.

Because the file on my lap held Parker’s whole tragic, beautiful life inside it.

“I don’t sleep much.”

“Oh.”

She had an empty glass in her hand. I stood up and took it from her, carrying it to the fridge where I kept a pitcher of filtered water. That was new. I’d never given a shit about stuff like water quality before. A lot of things were new since Parker came into my life, like seeing a gorgeous girl I couldn’t touch half-dressed and half-asleep at all hours of the day and night.

Like being able to see her but not touch her. It was pretty much constant torture. Not that I wanted it to end.

Right now, I was doing my best to ignore that she was sleeping in the giant shirt I’d given her that first night. I was sure she had other things to sleep in. But she’d chosen that, of all things. And it was so fucking sexy on her it made my dick hurt.

Her legs were bare from mid-thigh down. Her gorgeous, creamy, golden thighs. Even worse, her perfect little toes were bare. Those feet of hers . . . they were the cutest damn things I’d seen in my life. I wanted to suck those toes until she screamed.

I was one thousand percent certain she was not wearing a bra.

I was one thousand percent not certain whether she was wearing panties. Part of me was praying fervently that she was. The other part of me was praying much louder than she wasn’t.

I carried the water back to her and took her hand, curling it around the glass. We stared at each other, the air between us filled with electricity. I knew this was dangerous. I was so close to saying to hell with it, pulling her into my arms and burying myself inside her for days.

Weeks.

Years.

“Parker . . .” I said, my voice raw with need. I still held her hand where it circled the cup. I rubbed my thumb over the silky skin of her inner wrist. She leaned toward me slightly, and I jerked away abruptly.

“Go back to bed,” I growled. My voice was rough and sounded harsher than I meant it to. She blinked and inhaled sharply. Then she turned tail and ran.

I stood there, feeling her absence. It was like all the air got sucked out of the room without her there. Like the warmth and beauty were gone. I was losing my damn mind. I wanted to chase her down the hallway and tackle her. Just take what I wanted, again and again, until I was satisfied.

If it was even possible to be satisfied. I doubted it. I wanted her too badly. It felt like it would never end.

Instead, I walked back to the couch and opened the file.

The first thing I saw was a picture of Parker as a little girl. I traced the picture with my fingertips, just as I’d done the first time I saw the picture. She was precious. Confidence and intelligence shone out of her stunning blue eyes. I felt an overwhelming sense of tenderness well up inside me.

I bet that’s what her kids will look like, I thought. Pure and perfect, just like her.

The quiet, shaky voice definitely not matching the guy name caught me off guard.

“What can I do for you, Jaq with a Q?”

“I’m not sure if I have the right guy. Ollie Benson, that’s all I really have to go on.”

A brief memory touched my mind of my dad calling me Ollie as a boy. I hadn’t been

Ollie in many years. Nonetheless, I asked, “What is it that you need done?”

“I don’t want to get into trouble. How do I know you’re not a cop?”

My head jolted a little with a startled surprise, but I continued, curious of what illegal

transaction she was interested in pursuing. “You don’t, but you are wasting my time.

Maybe I can point you in the right direction, but first, you have to tell me what you’re

“Well, I, I, I’m looking for someone to like, like get rid of someone.”

I sputtered hot coffee from my lips, choking on her words. That’s not what I was

Synopsis

What happens when a dominant is unable to dominate his own world?

Davis believed his life and everything about it was perfect; he had a great job, his own house on the beach complete with a private ‘dungeon’ for his more adventurous encounters, great friends, the perfect club membership at a private BDSM club, and what he felt was most important…total control – until the day he was forced to realize that perfection wasn’t something he could control.

Imanya and Kaena were about as completely opposite as two females could get, with one surprising shared attribute – Davis. What he comes to find out is that while he may be the ‘dominant’ when it comes to the bedroom, they each are in control of what really matters…his heart.

This is a story about some of the things that are not always controllable: things like love found and lost, unexpected new love – and a ghost or two.

Intended for adult readers who don’t mind a little BDSM and like to smile at happy endings.

“Circles of Trust” is described as, “A romance mixed with suspense, laughter, and tears sprinkled with a little BDSM and garnished with a bit of the paranormal.”

She enjoys creating quirky, slightly neurotic characters that aren’t perfect as they deal with their lives and the world around them. Even so, they always find love, and hopefully…leave the reader with an unexpected smile. She reads whenever she isn’t writing and loves to cook and argue with her cat. The cat usually wins. sixgunsexcerpt

An arm slipped around my chest. I looked over at the naked girl beside me and smiled.
“You okay?” she asked as her fingertips lightly glided along my skin, her nails painted dark red.
“Yeah,” I told her. “Just can’t sleep.”
She smiled back as she snuggled up closer to me. I stared at her face. She had light blue eyes that wrinkled at the corners when she spoke. Her teeth were a little crooked, but I decided she was an okay looking girl, a little ragged, but not bad. She hadn’t talked that much. She closed her eyes as I continued to stare at her.
“Hey,” I said, nudging her awake again. “What’d you say your name was again?”
She smiled and sat up on her elbows, pulling the sheet up over her exposed chest. “Steph.”
That’s right. Steph. I remembered now.
“You said you liked it,” she reminded me, “you know, my name?” She grinned revealing those teeth again, which were a little frightening. Maybe I was wrong. The teeth completely changed my opinion about her being okay looking. I didn’t want to see that smile again.
I turned my back to her and sat on the edge of the bed. I raked my fingers through my hair and put on some shorts. I thumbed through a few bills from the stack of cash Carmine had given me. “Yeah, sure. Steph suits you just fine.” I turned and handed her some money. “You’d better get going.”
She pressed her lips together and frowned as she examined the money in her hand. “Stan, what the hell is this?”
Stan? Then I remembered why she was calling me that. “What do you mean what’s it for? It’s for last night.”
“I’m not a fuckin’ hooker you asshole!” she bellowed out.
“You’re not?”
“No!”
Holy shit. I could’ve sworn she was a prostitute. I wanted to ask her if she was sure, but I figured that probably wouldn’t go over too well. “Oh, well, sorry then. You can keep the money just the same.”
She glared at me with these huge eyes as if she didn’t know whether she was going to keep the money or punch me in the face. I deserved the punch in the face either way. She angrily got dressed and headed to the door as she slipped her heels on. “I have never been so insulted in my whole life.”
I shrugged. I just wanted her to go. “Well, there’s a first time for everything.”
“Don’t ever look me up again if you’re back in Haven,” Steph warned me.
I turned my head away from her. “You don’t have to worry about that.”
I could feel her eyes on me even though I wasn’t looking at her. “You fuckin’ prick,” she huffed out as she opened the door to the room and slammed it shut behind her.
“Yes, I am,” I replied to the empty room as I stood up and locked it. I turned back around and headed toward the bathroom. I really needed a shower.

**New Release** High Class Harlot by Delia Steele

High Class Harlot (Book 2 in the Switching Tracks Series)

By: Delia Steele

Release Date: July 1st,2014

Genre: NA, Contemporary Romance

People spend their whole lives being condescending cockstars. Assuming they know something when they don’t. Assuming they know who someone is when they
have no idea. Assuming that, because they can see something, they understand it. Let me tell you right now, STOP ASSUMING! Until you walk a day in
someone’s gold-studded hooker heels, you do not know them or their story. Do not assume your struggle is worse simply because it’s yours. Do not assume
they are ok just because they look to be so. And do not assume you are a better person simply because someone chooses to sin differently than you.

My family has money. We buy what we want without fear of being destitute, and we will never worry about having food or any other necessities. My
struggle in life is not with the money, but where it comes from. My father’s secret is carrying a hefty price tag that I can no longer afford. My soul
is priceless, and he is stripping it away from me. My world isn’t all rainbows, sparkle, and diamonds falling from my exit hole like Rory’s story
portrayed. For every high, there is a low, and the higher you go, the further you have to fall.

I have the best things in life, except for life itself. Everyone I love has moved away; my passion to exist has deflated; my job is a joke; but more
than anything, I hate who I am allowing myself to become. Is there anyone strong enough to hold my hand on this road to self-preservation, or am I to
travel it alone?

If you start my story, please find it in yourself to finish it before you judge me. Don’t assume you can know where I am headed without seeing where I
have already been. I am Amandolette Riaz, and I am a glitzed-up glitch in today’s delicate world.

Vicky’s Review
Where do I even start. In the first book in the series Trailer Park Princess we got to meet Rory’s crazy best friend Mando, this is her story. And I anxiously awaited this one. I loved Mando and here we get to see a different side of her. As she struggles with new revelations and relationships we find her #Sparkle starting to fade. Being as stubborn as she is she keeps it all on the inside and tries to deal with it on her own. Will she be able to bring her shine back? Or will she self destruct and take everyone down with her? And although I love her craziness I was glad to get to know her on a deeper level. The story was well written and I devoured it in NO time. I cannot wait to see what the other stories in the series bring. I like to get to know the character’s back story. It really helps you understand why they are, even if you hate them. Ugh of course we have to deal with #DRAMA and #ISSUES but this would not be Mando’s story with out it. This is a must read for those who like an excellent story-line filled with twists, romance, and a grandma just as crazy as Mando. And don’t forget to #LetYourTacoSparkle

havoc on the strong girl she’s always considered herself to be. Have her poor choices doomed her to life in the trailer park, or will she be able to
exceed even her own expectations? Will she ever realize she is truly a princess worthy of getting her prince? Or will she simply survive? How does
Rory’s story end?

This book is suited best for readers over the age of 17 due to sexual content and some language, as well as a few different types of abuse that are
rarely talked about: Verbal, Mental, and to some extent, Sexual and Physical

“I’ve never understood a year. A year was always a measurement of something bad for me. A year in my father’s prison sentence, a year since my mom’s death, a year left of school before I could get far, far away from here. It has been a year since Lily chose me, since she sat with me on the old swing set and made a decision that I was worthy of her. And every minute of the entire year has been better than the last.”

He’s smiling. Not that smirk he gets when he’s bitter but also pleased about something. It’s not the smile that says that he knows happiness is temporary. When he lines up his Skee-ball shot, there is a smile on his face that is pure. Genuine. It’s like taking a step back and seeing Jack in a photograph. One from years before his life went crazy. He’s just a dorky kid playing Skee-ball and he’s so happy when he nails the shot. He does an awkward little dance and it’s the kind of thing about Jack that makes me love him. He’s gorgeous and sexy and aggressive yet sweet. He’s kind and considerate of me, both sexually and in general. But I don’t love Jack for that. I love him because there is light in the world in the space he takes up. I know he doesn’t see it, but he’s inside himself. From the outside, all I see is the absolute electricity and fire that fills the air around him.

“That’s how it’s done,” he tells me when he finishes his game, wrapping up his ridiculous stack of tickets. I’m so going to lose, but I don’t care. He’s happy. I just almost wish I was better at this, so we could stay here longer, so that Jack could be this part of himself for as long as he needs.

“I think you’re perfect,” I say.

“Because I’m good at Skee-ball? Shit, that’s all it takes?”

I shake my head. “No, but you tell me all the time. I don’t think I ever say it to you. I don’t like the idea of perfection. It’s too much of a standard to live up to, but I don’t think you even understand. It’s cheesy and probably cliché, but I just can’t imagine how I could breathe without you. How did I exist before this?”

He looks down, uncomfortable because it’s one thing to tell Jack he’s hot or sexy; he can handle that and he gets cocky and ridiculous when I tell him that. But this part of him, this vulnerability, he buries it so deep that drawing attention to it makes him want to disappear. But I don’t want that. I want him to embrace it, because it’s sweet and beautiful.

“Don’t look down,” I say and I lift his face to look at me. His eyes explode with light, the way fireworks do on New Year’s when the sky is like ink and then it’s suddenly on fire. I lean in and kiss him, feeling his hands tighten on my arms and his lips opening against mine. He’s scared. I can feel it in the way he kisses me today; he feels himself falling and he’s trying to hold on and I need to figure out how to be steady enough to hold him. “Trust me,” I plead. “Let me take some of what you’re feeling. I can handle it, Jack.”

He nods. “Another day. Today, I just want to stay here, to be here with you, where it’s safe and comfortable and my entire world is this. Where strawberries and popcorn and Skee-ball and shitty plastic toys are the entirety of what exists.” He pauses. “I promise, Lily. I will. Soon. But let me hide from it. Just for a little longer?”

“Okay, but don’t hide from me, okay?” I ask.

“I’ll try,” he offers and it’s okay that he can’t promise. He’s honest and I would rather he is than say something he knows is a lie. I’m not fragile. I won’t break if he hurts me. I just don’t want him to worry about doing it. I never signed up for it to be easy. I knew from the start that it wouldn’t be. “Now, stop distracting me. Unless you want to concede defeat?”

“Never gonna happen,” I say and I settle in to play more Skee-ball. I don’t really care about winning since whatever the prize ends up being is going to be more of him, regardless. But I try my best and actually win two games in a row. Of course, that’s as long as it lasts.

When he beats me, by eight games, he gloats in his victory, but he ends up using his tickets to get me a green plastic piggy bank. The options are pretty bad, but I love that he picked the bank, because it’s hideous and cheap and we spent far more than we could even fit in the bank. I love it because I’ll never use it, but it will always be like this day – something that doesn’t really belong but needs to exist because the world is simply better for it being there.

This is a coming of age story, but it isn’t always sweet and innocent. If dirty talk, bedroom toys, and threesomes offend you… this is not your book.

“No one tells you when you start school just how homesick you will be, or how hard it will be to start life over with no direction and no friends or family. No one says that becoming your own person is terrifying.”

I never wanted anything but Derek, my brother’s best friend. When I chose a college, it didn’t seem to matter that he would be an hour away. We could survive it. After all, we were in love. But almost immediately, things change between us. I blame myself. Maybe I’m just not sure how to be a girlfriend and independent.

Life seems to be getting away from me – and then there’s Jack, the guy down the hall. He’s rude and vulgar and my parents would be shocked by him, yet every single time I see him, I feel like I’m being pulled toward him. It’s physical, sure, but there’s something in Jack’s eyes – and I want to know him.

I know I don’t always make the right choices, and I’m the only person at fault when everything falls apart. How do I tell Derek, the guy who was supposed to be everything, that I don’t feel like fighting for him anymore? And do I run to Jack, when I know his past is way too much for me to handle when I’ve just turned 19? Finally, where do I end up in all of this? Can I be more than just someone else’s idea of what I should be?

Jack’s story isn’t pretty. He’s suicidal, depressed, and he uses meaningless sex and alcohol to survive. However, the story is about finding light in the darkness, but sometimes the road there isn’t always easy to walk.

“No one tells you about pain. They tell you that it hurts, that sometimes it’s consuming. What they don’t tell you is that it’s not the pain that can kill you. It’s the uncomfortable numbness that follows, the weakness in your body when you realize your lungs may stop taking in air and you just can’t exert enough energy to care. It’s the way taste and color and smell fade from the world and all you’re left with is a sepia print of misery. That’s when the shift starts – the movement from passive to active. I fall asleep, hoping that the morning will bring back the pain. At least the pain is a thing.”

I’m a plague, a cancer. My mom is dead – and my father is in prison for it. I survived high school because college was my way out. I needed to escape, to get away from my family and the people who tortured me, but it hasn’t grown any easier.

I don’t pretend that I’m a good person. I drink far more than I should, and I use my best friend, Alana, because together, we thrive on destroying each other – as well as the parts of us we hate. I don’t believe in love, but sex is fun and it also makes me feel something.

The morning I see Lily, the beautiful princess who smells inexplicably like strawberries every time I see her, I realize I’m in trouble. I should hate her. I want to hate her, because the alternative terrifies me. However, as she continues to crash into my life (often literally), I can’t avoid feeling something that is the one thing I swore I would never feel. I can’t fall in love, because people like me don’t live in a world where love saves anyone.

She just won’t go away, though, and I don’t know if I can keep running. The voices and the darkness hover over me and they threaten to bring me back to the safety of my hate, but the stupid scent of strawberries lingers on the horizon, as something like hope.

Warning: This book deals with topics of abuse and may trigger reactions in people who have experienced those things in their own lives. It remains a story about healing, but it’s not always an easy journey.

“Four. My life has been shaped by four people. Four men, to be more specific. My father, my stepfather, my best friend, and my boyfriend. The first two shaped it in horrible ways, but what I am, who I am, is all because of four men.”

Over the last twenty years, I’ve learned how to keep secrets. It doesn’t really matter, since everyone already seems to think they know everything about me. So I hide. I avoid confrontation, I treat Xanax like a magic pill that will make it all go away, and I become everything they think I am. A slut. A whore. Nothing but trash.

I can only name two guys who have ever made me feel like I was more than that. Jack is my best friend and I’ve loved him since I met him. Now, though, he’s in love… with someone else, and I guess I need to get over him. Somehow.

And then there’s Dave. The guy I never gave a chance. The guy I used almost as much as people used me, because I wanted to pretend I was someone worth loving. Two years have passed since we last spoke, but I don’t know how to stop thinking about him.

My new therapist is making me face my past, and she tells me that life inevitably changes without our permission. I believe it, but I know what I am. I hear what she’s saying to me, and I want to try again with Dave, to help Jack find joy, to love myself, and to move on. I just wonder if anyone can do that, really.

This is a holiday novella-length story that follows Forget Me Not and Lily of the Valley.

“With you, Jack, it was the first time I ever felt real. It was the first time anyone looked at me and saw substance. It was the first time I wanted to make someone see me.”

Jack: New Year’s Eve. I’ve somehow managed to get here, and now I’m wearing a hideous and unreasonably itchy sweater, because I want to impress Lily’s family. I want to do anything for this girl who has made me believe in second chances.

Lily: The house is beautiful and shining with light, but it feels empty. At least until Jack gets here. I know how desperately he wants this – a family, love, a home. If I can be the person who can give it to him, it’s all I need, but I hope I can keep him from seeing how hollow it all really is.

button.2About the Author:

Sarah Daltry writes about the regular people who populate our lives. She’s written works in various genres – romance, erotica, fantasy, horror. Genre isn’t as important as telling a story about people and how their lives unfold. Sarah tends to focus on YA/NA characters but she’s been known to shake it up. Most of her stories are about relationships – romantic, familial, friendly – because love and empathy are the foundation of life. It doesn’t matter if the story is set in contemporary NY, historical Britain, or a fantasy world in the future – human beings are most interesting in the ways they interact with others. This is the principle behind all of Sarah’s stories.

Sarah has spent most of her life in school, from her BA and MA in English and writing to teaching both at the high school and college level. She also loves studying art history and really anything because learning is fun.

When Sarah isn’t writing, she tends to waste a lot of time checking Facebook for pictures of cats, shooting virtual zombies, and simply staring out the window.

Sarah has also written Bitter Fruits, an urban fantasy romance, and Backward Compatible, a gamer geek romantic comedy.
