#HATER by Cambria Hebert Blog Tour

Title: #Hater
Series: The Hashtag Series #2
Author: Cambria Hebert
Genre: NA Contemp/College Romance
Release Date: January 12, 2015
It started with unspoken animosity. The bitter bite of jealousy. And now its full blown hate.
It was during my first football game that I first felt the first chill of hate. I looked it right in the eyes and felt its sticky tentacles reach out for me. I’d never experienced something so cold and empty before.
The effect of that look lingered, like an unspoken promise, long after it was gone.
Becoming a couple – becoming the other half of a campus celebrity wasn’t easy. I let down walls guarding my heart and he looked past my glasses and accident prone tendencies. Romeo and I are an unlikely match, a #nerd and a jock. But we made it.
And we’re happy.
Zach doesn’t want us to be happy. He wants Romeo to pay for getting him kicked out of Omega and for the night he spent in jail. He’s going to use anything and everything he can to get his revenge. Including me.
As the weather on campus grows cold and the days become dark, revenge becomes the center of someone’s life and the happiness Romeo and I worked so hard for is threatened.
I can’t help but worry that our love is going to be overshadowed by hate.

“It’s not your job to protect me, Romeo.”
“You’re wrong.” I said, my voice leaving no room for argument. “It is and I will.”
“You’re my boyfriend. Not my bodyguard.” Her words were annoyed and I felt something behind them. But before I could question her she kept going. “He was just being a jerk. I tried to walk away and he stopped me. If I hadn’t fought against him I probably wouldn’t have a bruise at all.”
I felt my eyes narrow as I spoke dangerously low. “Are you saying it’s your fault Zach treated you this way?”
Letting her take any responsibility for this was something I would not allow.
She sighed. “I’m saying your being a drama queen.”
I laughed and raised my eyebrow. “Do I look like a woman to you?”
A fine pink blush spread across her cheekbones. “No.”
I took her face in my hands and tilted it up so I could stare into her eyes. “Listen to me. My reacting to someone putting their hands on you is not me being dramatic, it’s me loving you.”
“Oh, Romeo,” she sighed my name and my cock hardened.
I pulled her into my chest and wrapped my arms around her. “Being an asshole is just part of my charm, baby.” I said matter of fact, unable to keep the smile out of my voice. “This is just me loving you.”
“You love real good,” she mumbled against my chest, pushing a little closer.
I palmed the back of her head, holding her tight. It scared me how much I loved her sometimes. Just like the anger I’d felt just moments ago scared me. It was raw and intense. It almost bordered on hate.
And all of it. Every single flame of that animosity was directed at one man.

Suleika’s 5 star review

20 stars, I wish I could. If you read #Nerd you already fell in love with Romeo and Rimmel, you already know the characters and you know how awesome they are. I loved that the author (who is a fave of mine) didn’t change Romeo in this story. Some authors change their characters when they do series but Cambria left her characters true to what they were in #Nerd and I am so glad she did. You can obviously see that Romeo and Rimmel love each other even more if that is possible but Romeo is still the same charming, flirty, popular guy and Rimmel is just as nerdy.
There was a bit more drama and a whole lot of action in this part of the story and I loved it all. I truly dislike Zach, he is the perfect villain, I wanted him gone or hurt or something, ugh! He is so good at being bad. He is the biggest bully ever!!!
As I was reading (really fast because it was so good of a story) I noticed that the story was ending and I needed more, like a whole lot more. I can’t wait for #Player so that we can finally see how the story will play out after that ending. OMG! It was so emotional because you just don’t know what will happen next.
Read #Nerd first or you will be lost but definitely pick this one up and read it, it is that good and more…

With her growing business being praised from the mouths of celebrities, Lexi’s happy to oblige. What she isn’t expecting is to gain the attention of the guy who’s everything she’s shied away from. Cruz is a self-assured witch, a realist, and not afraid to play the field with his charismatic demeanor. Lexi’s optimistic, sweet, and looking for the one who will make her heart whole.

Sometimes love is hiding in places you’d least expect. Just ask Lexi and Cruz.

Suleika’s Review

OMGosh! Best Book EVER! Like seriously it is sooooo good. Romantic and funny and emotional, it has everything even a little mystery.
I loved the first 2 books in the series and I was thinking that #2 was my favorite so far but I totally changed my mind with this one, Lexy and Cruz are the best couple ever! They both were great characters, just perfect in every way and I already loved them before but on their story I fell in love with both of them even harder. The story is perfect, not a single boring moment. So many funny moments, I was LOL so hard last night. There is this part where Cruz asks Lexy if she was checking his @ss and it is so funny I am laughing again just thinking about it.
We see a different side to Cruz that I totally loved, he is so different than what we thought of him from book #2 and although I loved him on that book I loved him even more after I got to know this side of him.
I loved that all 3 girls were very much on Lexy’s story and that their friendship was as strong as before if not more.
I absolutely loved how the author ended the story and I was very much satisfied and happy. I was very emotional because it was very beautiful too, you might cry if you are as invested in the series as I was.
Perfect conclusion to the series and I really wish there could be more, I am really not ready to say goodbye to Sage Springs, it is a great series!!!
I have to say this series it’s my #1 this year.
If you like witches and towns full of friendly ghosts, a story full of love and friendships and even a little mystery then this is the series for you!.

Vicky’s Review

Loved this book in the series!! I am sad to finish though as I have come to love Sage Springs and its inhabitants. Lexi seems to be looking for love in all the WRONG places. After a string of bad dates, Cruz shows back up in town to shoot his paranormal celebrity ghost show. The kiss they had last summer has stuck with them both. Has what Lexi has been looking for been this close and in front of her this whole time? Knowing Cruz is only going to be there for a few short weeks Lexi decides to make the best of it and try not to let her heart get lost and broken in the process. There are a few twists and turns and, I had a hard time putting it down as I could not wait to see how the story unfolded. Excellent read, great series, awesome characters. I am hoping that maybe there will be an off-shoot to the series. I would like to know more about Bianca, as I think she just wears a tough exterior and really does have a heart inside. Overall I really liked how each book in the series centered around a specific character but that they were all included in the stories.

Suleika’s 5 star review

Best book I have ever read. This is officially my #1 book now. This book is so well written, there is so much emotion put into words.
This is the best ugly cry I’ve ever had and not just while reading a book, I have never cried this hard in my life before… and I cry a lot. The book will not just make you cry, it had many moments when I was laughing out loud.
Characters:
Savannah is a very strong character. I absolutely loved her, she is a different character, her personality was not something that we see a lot in books.
You will fall in love with Fletcher right away, he is so perfect and funny and a gentleman and yet he has a big secret, one that I won’t spoil for you, one that makes the story what it is.
Lizzy is a hoot and the perfect best friend.
Ben is Fletcher’s best friend and I loved how the author worked him into the story, I won’t spoil anything…
The story will pull you in right away, it is one of those that you will need to read in one sitting and one that after you read the first chapter you are hooked.
This book has destroyed me, I’m truly heartbroken. I cried for so long, once I started crying I didn’t stopped till I read the last word and then I cried for 15 minutes after that, it is that sad. But so good, it was a good cry.
The story does have a HEA ending but not the one you expect. Was I happy that Savannah was happy? Yes, I was but I still wanted what I could not have in the story.
I wish I could give this book more that 5 stars.
To the author: I wish you get a publishing deal or something for this awesome book. It needs to be a best seller, it needs to be in the window of bookstores.
Everyone needs to read this book. I will recommend to all my book loving friends.

My thoughts:

5 stars- ARC provided by the author

WOW! It keeps getting better and better…
The story picks up right where part two finished and part 2 ended with a BANG so you know you just need to find out what was going to happen with the super big shock and the super big surprise when they went to New York. So, we learn about the secret that Gabe’s mom was keeping from him for 8 years but after you keep reading you will find out the truth about the whole mess. It was very well written, I loved how the author worked that into the story and how she made you think one thing and then it was something else. This part of the story had a lot of action and so much more emotions. When Gabe actually tells Stella that he wants more I was so happy! I was thinking “YES!!!” finally. I have been waiting for them to actually fall in love, not that I did not like what they were doing, the games and the arrangement that they have is fun and interesting, specially the game part, but as a romantic reader I always want a little more. There were also a lot of super steamy sex scenes as hot or maybe a little hotter than in the previews books. I can’t hardly wait to the conclusion, there are still a few things going on that need to be resolved and some characters that we know are going to get what’s coming to them. The author ended this part with a BANG as well, she is very good at doing that.
If you are reading this book I recommend reading part one and part two first, they need to be read in order to understand the story and trust me you want to read them.
You will fall in love with the characters, all of them. Gabe and Stella are awesome and so is Stella’s best friend Ronnie.

BT* Review & Giveaway-Tryst (Take it Off Series #8) by Cambria Hebert

Sometimes all a girl needs is a little fling…
Talie Ronson needs a vacation.
From life.
Since she caught her cheating, loser husband in bed with his assistant, her life has been on a steady spiral—right into hell. Her car’s a junker, her job sucks, and her perfect, gorgeous sister likes to brag about her wonderful life every time they “do” lunch.
In an effort to salvage what’s left of her life and her sanity, she takes the advice of her kooky best friend and takes off to Topsail Island. A week at the beach, alone, is exactly what she needs to recharge, regroup, and relax.
Only, her alone time is about to get derailed.
Gavin Palmer’s favorite activity is walking around in his boxers and eating junk food. He and his neighbors have an understanding. They stay out of his business and he stays out of theirs. He lives at the beach, not for vacation, but for isolation. He’s had enough of people to last him a lifetime.
Gavin’s isolation is interrupted when his normally quiet neighbor starts disturbing his peace. He stomps across the sand to give the guy a piece of his mind… only it isn’t a guy.
It’s Talie.
She’d maddening, nosy, and talks too much.
But she’s hot and her bedroom eyes have him thinking maybe he’s had enough solitude. Maybe a week of company is exactly what he needs.
Maybe what they both need is a no-strings-attached tryst.

My thoughts:
You will fall in love with the characters. Talie is a walking disaster, I absolutely loved her. She was not perfect by any means, the author didn’t make her a model or anything like that which was really good in my opinion. She was also super funny and very prone to accidents. She liked sex, lots and lots of it and sometimes the things she would think were so funny, I was laughing a lot with her.
Gavin is perfect, but broken. He is a loner, he likes to live alone and keep a simple life at the beach. I fell in love with him right away even though he was a little bit of a jerk, you just can’t help it, like I said, he is perfect. When you discover the real reason why he is broken you might cry, at the very least you will get really sad.
The story is super romantic and it has some very super hot and steamy sex scenes.
I’ll tell you a little bit about the story:
Talie (Natalie) finds out her husband is cheating on her, she loses her job and her best friend tells her that she needs a breather, a sort of vacation so she goes to her best friends aunt house at the beach. She meets Gavin there, her car broke down before she even makes it to the beach and Gavin is the one to help her. Then she finds out they are neighbors. Lots of funny things happen, many with a cat (there is a cat at the house that she is house sitting). Gavin likes to surf. They start getting friendly, mostly Talie trying to be friends with Gavin because she found him super hot. Then eventually they get close (if you know what I mean), super hot sexy scenes to follow and I won’t tell you anything else, you need to read this book, it is one I am going to recommend to every one of my reading friends.
I have read a few books from this author and have loved every single one of them. This one might be my favorite so far.
Just as the road started to gradually lift and lead onto the bridge my car made a very loud clunking sound and then groaned like it was going to come apart at any second.
Even though my foot was pressed on the gas the car slowed considerably, idling along like a turtle who had no where it needed to be. “Come on!” I yelled at the dashboard as I gave the steering wheel a smack.
Suddenly the wheel seemed extremely hard to steer. What usually was an easy, effortless task now seemed like something that required large muscles.
Did I mention I was lacking in the muscle department?
I applied the brakes and fought the Jetta to the side of the road. I wasn’t about to try and make it over the bridge like this. My luck I would plunge over the side and get eaten by a shark when I hit the water.
The loud rattling sounds the stupid car made drowned out the cadence of the ocean waves and caused some of the peace I was found on my way here to disappear.
After several long moments of just sitting there, leaning my forehead on the steering wheel and asking God why I was cursed I turned off the engine. The car stuttered and then died. I knew it wasn’t going to turn back on.
“And the hits just keep on coming,” I said out loud.
I opened the car door, letting it open so that the light would stay on for a few moments and bent down to look for the hood release latch. After I found it and popped the hood I stood there staring down in the dark at the insides of a car I couldn’t see.
Then I remembered my phone. The flashlight app was handy in moments like this. Even with the engine and innards of the car visible I had no clue what was wrong with it.
“I am so getting a new car,” I sighed. I called up the number to Triple A in my phone (I might not know how to fix cars but I knew how to call people who did) and wondered how long it would take them to send a tow.
A pair of headlights appeared traveling in my direction. I raced around the side of the car and leapt into the driver’s seat, slamming the door behind me. After the way this week was going I would not be surprised at all if the person behind the wheel of that car was a serial killer out looking for his next victim.
The car slowed and pulled directly behind my car.
See? Total serial killer.
I heard the slam of the door and watched as a large dark figure approached. I could make out nothing because his headlights turned him into nothing but a dark shadow.
The only thing I knew for sure was that it was a man. Unless of course it was a woman. Judging from the sheer size of the black shape if it was a then she would have to be a professional body builder.
Seconds later a darkened face appeared at my window.
“Car trouble?” he rumbled. His voice was deep and his southern accent was strong.
I screamed.
I forgot my window was down!
I jammed the key back into the ignition and turned the engine over. It made a puny, pathetic sound and stalled out. The windows were electric. I couldn’t get it up if the car wouldn’t start.
“Please don’t kill me!” I burst out.
A laugh floated through the night air and wrapped around my body. He put one of his hands on the door, so that it rested where the window should be, his fingers falling down the inside of the door.
I snatched the keys out of the ignition and swung down to stab the fleshy part of the back of his hand. Seconds before I made him bleed he jerked away.
“I’m not going to murder you!” he shouted.
“Don’t you yell at me!” I retorted.
“You tried to stab me!”
“You tried to kill me!”
“I stopped to see if you needed help. You know, because your junker car here stopped working.”
“How dare you call it a junker.” I fumed. My car definitely was a junker but I wasn’t about to let him insult me. I’d had enough of men to last me a lifetime.
“Sweetheart, I call it like I see it.” he drawled.
Damned if I didn’t get goose bumps. His voice was like the velvet sky I was admiring only moments ago. “Well, okay, it’s a piece of crap.” I allowed. Obviously his southern accent was making me stupid.
“I’m just going to take a look,” he said. Before I could tell him no he was walking around the front of my car. The glow of his headlights gave me a glimpse of the way his hips rotated when he walked.
He had long legs, the kind that owned the ground whenever he took a step. He was tall… he had to be at least six two. Other than that I couldn’t make out anything else about him. He was wearing a baseball hat and it was pulled down low, shading all of his face from the little light out here.
A light clicked on up front (he must have the same app as me) and I saw him reaching down into the engine. The sound of something being pulled out of the car had me leaping out of my seat and rushing around the front.
“What the hell are you doing!” I demanded horrified as he pulled out this long black thing. “Is that a snake?” I shrieked. Had I somehow run over that giant thing and it got caught in my engine?
He paused and looked up at me. “A snake?” he asked like he couldn’t understand what I was saying. Then he shook his head. “It’s the drive belt,” he muttered, going back to pulling it out.
“Well if it’s supposed to be in there why are you pulling it out?”
“This way when I go to kill you, I know you won’t be able to get away.”

brick synopsis

Hope and Cameron made a five-year promise before college. Years pass and they never see each other again. But then one month before his planned wedding to Riley, Cameron looks outside and sees Hope in the pouring rain, watching him.

Now, three years later, Cam has one day – a sick day on this last Friday of summer – to convince the one woman whose very existence breaths life into his lungs, that sometimes love like theirs actually does exist, and it’s that kind of love that lives forever, no matter how hard you fight to forget about it and move on.

From the author of non friction and Hope, Sick Day follows one man’s day-long attempt to persuade the love of his life that sometimes it’s okay to break promises if it means keeping the ones that count.

5*
Very well written. Lovely story! Super romantic and I totally fell in love with Cameron. I do have to admit that Hope was not my favorite till later in the story. But she redeemed herself in the end.
I have read from this author before so I knew that I was not going to be disappointed.
The story did confuse me a bit in the beginning because I was wondering why other characters from his previews books were mentioned but then I understood.
The story goes back and forth from past to present and you really have to pay attention or you might get confused.
The characters:
Cameron~ my fave, he was sweet and funny and romantic. He does cheat on Riley with Hope, so keep in mind in case you do not like stories that include cheating. I don’t mind, specially when the main characters were soul mates and they really belong with each other.
Hope~ she was not my fave like I said but then I really liked her and I knew she was the one for Cameron. I really liked the Hope from the past. Of course she comes back as the story ends.
Riley~ I really liked her and when you read about how Cameron and her meet you can’t help but to fell sorry for her because she was really nice and perfect.
Gordon~ Cameron’s best friend, he really was something else and kind of an acquired taste. But he was funny and made the story interesting.
There were a few more characters but those were my fave.
I really loved how the author ended the story and I won’t spoil the ending but I will say that it made me cry, a lot.

I will mention one part that totally had me laughing out loud, this is when we are on a very super hot and steam scene:
She let out a soft moan. “Cameron…” she pleaded.
“I want to lick your face,” I said, the words slipping out of my mouth without my knowledge.
Right in the middle of an awesome scene…
So if you like steam in your stories this one has it, just be warned, you might laugh like I did.
I will recommend this book to anyone that likes a good romance.

brick excerpt

“Don’t make me go home tonight,” I begged.

When her eyes found mine again, she nodded. I didn’t know what it meant, though. Was she nodding because I had to go home, or did she want me to stick around?

“Talk to me,” I begged.

“I can’t,” she whispered. “If I talk, I’ll lose everything I came here for.”

When I opened my mouth and started to speak, she placed a finger over my lips to silence me.

Leaning forward, she brought her mouth to my ear, and in a broken whisper, she asked, “Take me back to the hotel. Love me. Remember me. And then tell me whether or not you exist for me.”

“I don’t need to make love to you to know that, Hope. All I need is to take a breath of you.”

“Then breathe me, all of me,” she begged. “In my hotel room.”

My thoughts

*****5 stars and more…

Let me just start by saying WOW! This book is awesome and I need more stars to rate it.
First of all I don’t know why people think it’s like 50 shades, I can see the similarities but I did not like 50 shades so I am not going to compare it to a book I did not like. I love the characters in this book. First of all Taylor, Oh Taylor… he is so dreamy!!! He is so intense. I loved that he has issues with touching but he is not a germaphobe, like he can’t touch other surfaces like a door handle and he doesn’t like shaking hands with anybody, that was good to see in a character that looks perfect but it’s not. He is a regular person with issues and problems. He had so many secrets and many that were very interesting.
I loved how they meet. Shyla is at a coffee shop and bumps into him spilling her coffee all over him, that was super funny. Shyla is a super likable character, she was not clingy or whiney or anything like that. She is a confident and strong character.
All the characters are very likable, I loved Lizzy and Kristin and Harrison and Rick and Henry and all of them except Eric of course, there is no way to like him even thought till a certain point in the story I did like him and was very curious about him.
I loved all the twists and turns that the author gave the story, the only thing that killed me was the cliffhanger. It’s epic, the author really knows how to end a story with a bang. The story will keep you entertained and glued to it till you have to finish it because you just need to know everything that will happen which is why the cliffhanger killed me.
The author’s writing style is great and I loved the texts between Shyla and Taylor.
The sex scenes are not vanilla at all so if you don’t like reading a little kink then this os not the story for you. It was not bad tho, just not for the faint of heart.
Recommended if you like to read something very sexy and with some suspense.
