An Acute Attraction by A J Walters

Meet… …Working single mother Isabel Chambers. She’s not a size 12 or as you’ve probably guessed, a virgin either. …Marc Sanders an attractive, successful Harvard Professor of Medicine visiting Cambridge. He has a secret past that has been well hidden until now. An Acute Attraction is a heart warming, exciting and compelling story of love and romance, full of seductive, sensual and tantalising emotions and images, sexual exploration and passion. Isabel Chambers is an ordinary, working, single mother of two, who needs some “me” time, so, kids sorted, she books herself into a hotel for a week of rest and relaxation. Marc Sanders is an American professor at Harvard University and is in England to present research results to Cambridge University. Two people, out for adventure and excitement, meet and begin a journey of fun, thrills, lust and desire. But, is Marc all he seems to be? What is he hiding?

Mel’s thoughts:

This is the story of Isabel a single mother of two boys and school teacher and Marc, an American researcher. They meet while each are staying at the Haveril Lodge. Isabel Chambers is there to enjoy a week away from her sons. Marc Sanders is there for work as he is a senior research executive with Harvard University working on a partnership with Cambridge. Their attraction to each other is instantaneous and both begin to explore a relationship knowing that their time may be limited. Marc makes Isabel feel things she has never felt before and she reaches out to her friends for guidance. Isabel is able to encourage Marc to open up about himself, including learning about his brother and why a fellow researcher, Emilie is blackmailing him.
This story was well written and flowed seamlessly through the scenes. The reader is able to feel as though they are at the hotel watching these two characters come to life. As the story unfolds, the reader is left feeling positive for both characters and is hoping the blackmailing situation ends quickly. The only downside to this story was the ending; it is a complete cliffhanger! I wanted so desperately to turn the page and know what happened next. That to me is the sign of a talented writer. AJ Waters was able to leave me wanting more. Her writing style and prose was a pleasure to read.
I encourage you to purchase this book and support this very talented author. I truly look forward to whatever AJ Waters produces next.
