Suleika’s Review for Strapped by Nina G. Jones

By all appearances, Shyla Ball has an enviable life: a loyal boyfriend, a great job, and family that loves her. She doesn’t realize how deeply unsatisfied she is until she has an embarrassing encounter with a handsome stranger at a coffee shop. Taylor Holden, a successful businessman, takes a sudden special interest in her and offers her a job she cannot refuse. Soon after, she learns there is much more to this intensely private man than meets the eye. He is hiding many painful secrets, including why it is that he has seemingly plucked her out of obscurity for such a lucrative position. Her “perfect” world is turned upside down by her infatuation towards Taylor and in just a couple of months, her life looks nothing like it did before. While she is frightened by the changes she sees in herself, she cannot resist the lure of Taylor Holden. As Shyla slowly gains Taylor’s trust, she learns of his complex history and how it has molded him into the person he has become. When elements of Taylor’s secret past resurface and threaten to destroy them, Shyla finds out there may be more to Taylor’s story than even he is aware of. Strapped is a story of passion, manipulation, obsession, and family secrets.

My thoughts

*****5 stars and more…

Let me just start by saying WOW! This book is awesome and I need more stars to rate it.
First of all I don’t know why people think it’s like 50 shades, I can see the similarities but I did not like 50 shades so I am not going to compare it to a book I did not like. I love the characters in this book. First of all Taylor, Oh Taylor… he is so dreamy!!! He is so intense. I loved that he has issues with touching but he is not a germaphobe, like he can’t touch other surfaces like a door handle and he doesn’t like shaking hands with anybody, that was good to see in a character that looks perfect but it’s not. He is a regular person with issues and problems. He had so many secrets and many that were very interesting.
I loved how they meet. Shyla is at a coffee shop and bumps into him spilling her coffee all over him, that was super funny. Shyla is a super likable character, she was not clingy or whiney or anything like that. She is a confident and strong character.
All the characters are very likable, I loved Lizzy and Kristin and Harrison and Rick and Henry and all of them except Eric of course, there is no way to like him even thought till a certain point in the story I did like him and was very curious about him.
I loved all the twists and turns that the author gave the story, the only thing that killed me was the cliffhanger. It’s epic, the author really knows how to end a story with a bang. The story will keep you entertained and glued to it till you have to finish it because you just need to know everything that will happen which is why the cliffhanger killed me.
The author’s writing style is great and I loved the texts between Shyla and Taylor.
The sex scenes are not vanilla at all so if you don’t like reading a little kink then this os not the story for you. It was not bad tho, just not for the faint of heart.
Recommended if you like to read something very sexy and with some suspense.
