witchwood estates 1 patti roberts

There is something very evil lurking in the woods surrounding Witchwood Estate… Whimsical, “TV” length episodes in an ongoing series. Witches, spells, ghosts, sprites, shape-shifters, wolves and more… For all those young at heart… Equal measure of both Magic and Evil.

Alexandria Santorini learns as a child that she comes from a long line of Harvey witches. Now, as a teenager, Alexandria must say goodbye to Catnip Cottage and the Barnabys, her loving guardians for the last twelve years, and go home to Ferntree Falls to claim her inheritance. Witchwood Estate. The home where she was born and her parents were murdered. Her journey home becomes somewhat sinister, however, when she discovers that there are those who have other plans for her and her new friends…

Grab your broomstick/dustbuster out of the closet and come along for the ride!

My Thoughts:

Right off the bat Patti peeked my interest.  In the first book in the Witchwood Estates  we meet Alexandria. She was brought up by the Barnaby’s after her parents met a tragic end. The series starts off with Alexandria  headed on her journey back to her families house that is in Ferntree Falls, just the name sounds intriguing Witchwood.. She meets a few interesting character’s along her way there, and even though she is anxious.. she cannot wait to be “Home”. Since these are books in an “Episodic way” they are short, which is the only thing that disappointed me.. It was well written, the character’s interesting, and the story moved at a good pace.  If you are looking for a good shorter read, with suspense that takes you out of the box.. This is one for you.

Book Two

Ferntree Falls

I was pleasantly surprised that this book picked up exactly where it needed to.

In the first book Alexandria had pretty much just finished the trip and was awaiting her ride. With her new friend? Andrew beside her.. in a sense anyways.. This book brings us deeper into the characters that we meet. And boy are they an interesting bunch that is for sure. And soon  it becomes clear that some people do not want her back in town.. Who can she trust? The story was about the same length as the first and as an added bonus there is special extras in the back such as The Harvey Witches Terminology and Plants, Animal Symbols, and other interesting stuff to learn about.. Which I rather enjoy reading more about stuff like that, it helps to get a better feel of the story. This “Episode” ended with Alexandria in a not so good situation.. Wonder what happens next?

Me too…

Book Three

Brought back from the clutches of death by a power she does not understand, Alexandria is focused on getting her life back to normal, whatever that means. With new friends, Andrew, Kat and River by her side, Alexandria lets herself believe that her future is looking promising.
Things take a turn, however, when a handsome stranger arrives in Ferntree Falls, and Alexandria begins to wonder if his presence is a blessing or a CURSE.

Witches, spells, ghosts, sprites, shape-shifters, wolves, and more.
For all those young at heart – an equal measure of both Magic and Evil.
My Thoughts:
I am really enjoying this series. I can NOT wait for book 4..
In each episode we get to meet more interesting people. As well as more of the story unfolding. Patti definitely knows how to keep you interested. I am still not sure what roles some of the characters will fall into- friend or foe? Will Alexandria be able to flourish here? Or will she end up with the same fate as her parents? Will she find love? Or is danger lurking around every corner? And although they are a shorter read I think part of it is that you can’t put it down. I am curious to see how the story grows, as well as the character’s. Witches and Ghosts, and Wolves OH my!!
